Turkeyfoot Valley Historical Society Purchases Building

The Turkeyfoot Valley Historical Society was founded in 2002 and officially became a 501(c)(3) organization in 2003.  Since then the society has been collecting historical artifacts, pictures, and manuscripts in order to preserve the areas rich history.  The society purchased the building at 600 Logan Place in Confluence, PA.

The society plans to use the building for a museum to display the historical collections of the society and hopes to house the local Turkeyfoot Lending Library and Confluence Tourism.  Joining the forces of these organizations will consolidate strengths, draw more people, and increase the usefulness of the building.

Funding for the restoration project is being provided by Homer J. Harned, a native of Ursina, PA who currently lives in Washington State.  Mr. Harned is giving back to the communities of his youth.  He feels privileged to have been afforded the opportunity to assist the organization and the area.
