Your support of our society and programs has a major impact on our success. We’ve received donations in many forms, ranging from volunteering to financial contributions. Without your support we cannot be our best. Please once again join our society and consider additional support by making a financial contribution.
The Turkeyfoot Valley Historical Society is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of the history and heritage of the area.
The programs and activities of the society are all open to the public. With a membership count of 150 and growing we’ve offered educational programs to the community, ranging from a consultant from the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Speaker and Historic Presentation and Community Development programs who spoke on downtown revitalization to a reenactor who portrays Mary Todd Lincoln.
The society also has had the opportunity to invite French, Native American, and British reenactors to help us commemorate George Washington’s trip to our area. This was a weekend event hosted on the actual ground where Washington wrote in his diary of “gaining the Turkey-Foot” and the difficulties he underwent traversing the rivers. Each year the society attends the community’s local event, Pumpkinfest, to assist in spreading historical knowledge of the area.
If you can spend some time volunteering at the Turkeyfoot Valley Historical Society please complete the following form.
